Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, an expansive shopping center development has been taking place in the emerging democracies of Central Europe. This situation is fueled by pent-up demand among the population and the expansion of international retail groups. Not only shopping centers in the classical sense, but also innovative hypermarket concepts have evolved in the new European Union countries.

The present investigation sets out to document the shopping center situation in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia for the first time. It presents 527 existing shopping centers and hypermarkets, plus 72 centers that are currently at the planning stage.

The shopping center situation is documented in a 698-page bilingual report (in English and German) which presents the various shopping centers and includes an up-to-date overview of the market.

This written report is supplemented by an interactive CD-ROM with comprehensive search functions, enabling you to filter out the exact information you require. In addition to providing a basic search function according to fundamental center criteria, it allows you to search for specific tenants or for all centers in any given geographical region.

Extensive photographic documentation helps to convey an impression of the philosophy behind the centers and the underlying center concepts.

The CENTER INFORMATION provided by this investigation includes:

  • Center name and address details
  • Center management and developer
  • Internet addresses
